It was another solid week for the domain aftermarket led by a 6-figure sale and enough in the 5-figure range to fill TWO Top 20 sales charts. .Coms (including a Spanish language domain at #2) swept 16 of the 20 chart entries. The country codes and non .com gTLDs took two each with one ccTLD reaching #3 on the Big Board.

After two well received voyages in 2010 and 2011, DNCruise, the only domain conference held on a cruise ship, will not leave port in 2012. Organizer Patrick Ruddell (AKA Chef Patrick) gave me the news today and explained the reasons for his decision. He also commented on the possibility of bringing the event back in 2013.

We're back from a great week in Spain where the Domaining Europe 2012 conference was held last week. We stayed over a couple of extra days to visit a few more of Valencia's many attractions and just got home Tuesday. The latest DNJournal.com newsletter is going out to opt-in subscribers this morning. In it we break down the domain sales data reported to us in the first quarter of 2012. Reports of an upswing in domain sales activity were confirmed by a big jump in transactions though total $ volume dipped a bit with the absence of blockbuster sales.
